科幻剧集《#23号灯塔#Beacon23》被Spectrum和AMC预定成剧。Spectrum拥有9个月的第一播出窗口期，此后则移至AMC进行播出。该剧改编自HughHowey的同名短小说，原著包括5个短故事。《头号玩家》编剧之一ZakPenn负责剧本，同时担任本剧主创、执行制片和剧集运作人。剧集将会是悬疑惊悚和爱情故事的结合。故事发生在最黑暗的太空深处，两个人被困在已知宇宙尽头的一座灯塔里。

作品主要围绕犀川研究室成员之一的犀川创平，以及犀川的恩师的女儿西之园萌绘两人展开，虽然萌绘并不是犀川研究室的成员，但参与了该研究室此次的研讨旅行，地点定在了妃真加岛。随后，在萌绘的提议下，犀川和萌绘前去拜访了座落在这座岛上的真贺田研究所，然而他们在那里的密室中发现了一具尸体。以此为契机，之后又连续发生杀人事件，被卷入其中的两人一同解决充满谜团的连环凶杀案……
